Project objective: to create a self portrait utilizing a specific color scheme and a non-traditional method. I chose an accented analogic scheme, utilizing the burlap as my yellow, and my stitching a lighter blue and a deep blue-purple. I finished the piece with accents of yarn and acrylic paints. Created in the darkroom, photograms utilize simple textile items layered on top of photographic paper then exposed with an enlarger. The paper is then developed in the same manner as any other photo. I love the different textures created by the natural items.
